Dear Bala House Parents,
Want some simple ways to contribute to Bala House that don’t involve writing a check? Below are three programs that help out our school while you shop at your usual merchants and purchase your usual products. Last year, “passive giving” programs gave Bala House more than $400 – money the school was able to use to maintain a good supply of playground toys, without dipping into the larger school budget. Please take a few moments to find out about these programs that can earn cash for Bala House!
Boxtops for Education
Many General Mills products contain “Boxtops” coupons on the packaging that can be clipped and turned in. Each Boxtop is worth 10 cents for Bala House. Twice a year we mail in the Boxtops and General Mills writes a check to Bala House. We’ll be placing a collection box in each classroom, and the kindergartners will keep track of which classes send in the most. We’ll be sending in all collected coupons on February 24, so check your cupboards and bring in those Boxtops!
iGive.com
Another great way to give to the school is to designate a percentage of online purchases for Bala House. Simply go to the iGive.com website (www.igive.com) and register, choosing Bala House as your beneficiary. The program downloads an iGive shopping button onto your computer browser. When you shop online at any one of iGive’s more than 900 participating merchants (including numerous popular retailers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and LL Bean) the button automatically tells the participating store that a percentage of your purchase should go to Bala House. If you’re placing an order from these merchants anyway, why not give to Bala House while you shop? You do not need to register your credit card to enroll!
Target REDcard
Finally, do you shop at Target? If you have a Target REDcard, you can designate Bala House as your beneficiary, and then every time you use your card while shopping at Target (or on Target.com), the company will donate 1% of your purchase to Bala House. (Another REDcard plus: you get 5% off your purchase every time you shop at Target.)
