Admissions Process

Schedule a Tour: To fully understand and learn about Bala House Montessori, we invite you to observe our learning community before beginning the enrollment process. This will give you a first-hand understanding of how our Montessori program can benefit your child and determine if this is an environment you would like for them. As soon as you step on our campus, you will FEEL what makes Bala Montessori different!

School tours are scheduled on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m.

Call 610-664-6767 or click on the Contact Us button to schedule a tour.

Fill Out and Submit an Application To apply, please fill out and submit our online school application. You will receive an email confirmation when your application and $50 non-refundable application fee has been received. The Admissions Director will be in contact with you to discuss the next steps in the admissions process.

Enrollment Period for New Applicants Enrollment of new applicants begins in January, following an enrollment priority period for current families. The following priorities are observed in determining admission:

  • Currently enrolled students
  • Siblings of currently enrolled students
  • Classroom space availability
  • Balancing of ages and genders in each classroom
  • Date of application

New Child Visit Applicants are scheduled for new child visits. A parent or caregiver will stay with the child for a short visit in a classroom with one of our teachers. Your child will interact with a teacher and work with classroom materials while you complete a questionnaire about your child. The new child visit does not guarantee a space for your child.

Invitation to Enroll When a space becomes available, following your new child visit, the school will send a letter inviting you to enroll your child at Bala House Montessori. The letter will contain an enrollment contract describing important enrollment terms and conditions.

Submit a Contract To hold a space for your child, a contract must be completed, signed, and returned by the date specified on your enrollment letter. Also, a nonrefundable deposit of $500 must accompany the contract. This deposit will be applied to the year’s tuition.

Enrollment Confirmation A copy of your contract, payment schedule, and medical forms will be mailed to you after your contract has been signed by the School Director and deposit has been processed.

Return Required Forms Before your child’s first day of school, all forms (emergency contact, emergency medical, child health report, medical dietary, tumble tots, and photo release) must be returned. On October 15th, we are legally required to exclude any child who does not have current medical forms on file.

Classroom Assignments Class placements are made by the Admissions Director, with every effort to maintain balance within the classrooms with respect to age and sex of the children. Children are assigned to a classroom in which they will work with the same teacher for their entire time at Bala House. Parents will be notified of classroom assignments in August.

Tuition Assistance Tuition Assistance forms are available from the Admissions Office after an Enrollment Contract has been offered and are due by April 30th.
