Supporting Bala House

Bala House Montessori has a rich tradition of parent involvement and an established culture of giving. Thanks to many community members, past and present, generously contributing to our Annual Campaigns, Capital Campaigns and Bala Galas, Bala House children enjoy a state of the art facility, wonderful new classroom materials, and beautiful furniture; the entire staff has attended national Montessori conferences; and many families have been able to give their children Montessori educations. None of this would be possible without our wonderful community’s generous gifts.

It is a source of pride that Bala House has maintained an affordable tuition structure while becoming known as one of the best Montessori programs in the Philadelphia area. We are all fiercely proud to be part of this great community that prepares children for their next educational steps, and for life.

Ways You Can Help

To maintain our high-level, personalized learning environment for young children, we engage in sustainable fundraising efforts similar to other independent schools. You can help Bala House Montessori continue to deliver a first rate Montessori program and reach its annual fundraising revenue goals by:

• Making an unrestricted gift to the Annual Campaign.
• Attending the Bala Gala, our annual spring auction.
• Participating in the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program.
• Making a gift to the Nina Reynolds Memorial Fund.

Giving partnership programs allow everyday purchases to make a difference by earning Bala House a percentage of the sales just by signing up.

Bala House Montessori a 501(c) (3) federal tax-exempt organization. Our Federal Tax ID number is 23-1720026.

Stock Transfers

A gift of appreciated securities, held for more than one year, may provide a greater tax advantage than a gift of cash and is easy to make. Capital gains on the appreciation are avoided, and you receive a tax deduction for the stock’s fair market value. Securities will be valued at the average of the high and low trading prices on the day your gift is transferred to Bala House.

To make a gift in the form of a stock transfer, please contact Emily Surovick at to find out how.

Corporate Matching Gift Programs

If you or your spouse works for a company that matches charitable gifts to independent schools, the impact of your contribution can be doubled or even tripled. Simply ask your employer’s Human Resources Department if they offer matching gifts. Obtain the necessary form from your Human Resources Department, complete the form, and turn it in with your donation to the Bala House. We will do the rest!

United Way

Bala House is a designated United Way recipient. Our donor number is 4838. Please print and complete our annual campaign pledge form. Check off that you are donating through United Way and send this form and your donation to: Bala House Montessori 27 Conshohocken State Road Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004
